I received a Doctorate in Physical Therapy through A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona in 2014. I graduated with my Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Florida International University in Miami, Florida in 2003. I received a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Sciences in 1999 from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. I have been a Physical Therapist (PT) for over 15 years. I began my career in a Rehabilitation Hospital with inpatient and outpatient services. I specialized in Brain Injury and Neurological conditions. After 5 years I moved on to doing the two things I love to do, physical therapy and travel. I worked in travel PT for 4+ years. As a traveler, I worked in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), Assisted Living Facilities, Outpatient, Home Health, and Longterm Acute Care/ Subacute Care Hospital. In between assignments I was able to work full time for 2 years in a SNF in San Diego, California as a Lead Physical Therapist and advanced to a Program Director. I have either taken travel assignments or worked per diem in Florida, California, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Hawaii, Washington D.C., and Virginia.
Physical Therapy is my calling! I love to help people gain or regain independence. It is fulfilling to me to see people get back to doing what they love to do. It is important to me to help my clients/ patients minimize pain, increase mobility, increase self body awareness, and independence.
When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my husband and son. I enjoy traveling, hiking, and running. My husband serves in the United States Navy and we are currently stationed in Portland, Oregon. We recently returned from being stationed in Japan.

My name is Matthew, but I go by Matt. I'm currently working towards my BCBA hours under Tina. I'm originally from Culpeper, VA, but I moved to Fredericksburg in 2012. I'm hoping to specialize in ACT as the main tool in my ABA toolbox and guide people towards more helpful behaviors. I got my start in the education field as a substitute teacher around four years ago, but discovered ABA as I began to work towards my teaching license and quickly realized that this is where my passion lies. In terms of my educational background, I hold an AAS in education from Germanna Community College, a BA in English/creative writing from the University of Mary Washington, an MS in psychology from Southern New Hampshire University, and I'm finishing my M.Ed. in special education at UMW this term. I'm also a Board Certified Special Educator (BCSE) and diplomate through the American Academy of Special Education Professionals (AASEP) and a recent recipient of the children's mindfulness/meditation teacher certification.

In terms of hobbies, I'm a polyglot and speak English, Spanish, French, German, and Ancient Greek. Outside of languages, I love to read horror novels, I'm an amateur violinist, and fan of the show Lucifer.
